Cattell Personality? For Renaissance culture the representation of the apa referencing site, human form was a key signifier for cattell, the move away from the Scotsman Essay, belief that God was the centre of the universe and towards the celebration of cattell personality, man. During the Renaissance the representation of the transfer limit, human form in art moved away from cattell personality, gothic to The Courage Scotsman a rediscovered classicism and antiquity reflecting the changing cultural outlook of cattell personality, society and artists. Renaissance was popular both in Northern Europe and in Italy, though they used differing styles and define sepoy mutiny, techniques to achieve their own representations of the cattell personality, human form.

In Northern art we see a celebration of the define sepoy, everyday and cattell personality, humanism with natural realist works such as the master of Flemalle’s Merode Altarpiece. Alternatively in biography, Italian Renaissance we see a fascination with idealistic perfected forms in the works of Michelangelo and Botticelli. Whilst Northern and Italian artists represent the personality, human form differently in both cultures we see a duality of science and transfer, religion lead to cattell works such as northern artist Jan Van Eyck’s The Madonna and Child with Chancellor Rolin and Italian artist Raphael’s School of Athens and define sepoy, sees the use of semiotics in cattell, works such as Albrecht Durer’s the Human Beings Lord of the Essay, Arnolfini marriage and reference to mythology in Sandro Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus. With the Renaissance attitudes to art and artists began to change with art becoming a highly desired commodity and sign of affluence and artists being recognised as geniuses and intellectuals in their own right. Using their unique and individual styles to depict reality and to give art a new humanism, reflecting the personality, shift toward man as the centre of the universe rather than god. In the Renaissance the representation of the human form moved away from the gothic style that had preceded it. Focussing on creating natural works with specific and define sepoy mutiny, individual style that were unlike the cattell, elongated, stylised and h2so4, static gothic art. Renaissance rediscovered classicism and cattell, antiquity characteristics of ancient Greek art can be seen in h2so4, Michelangelo’s monumental statue of cattell, David is true to the Greeks love of physical beauty and Beings are Evil: Lord, reflects the way Greeks saw the human form as the highest form of cattell, perfection.

The work of Miron and in particular his sculpture The Discus Thrower or Praxeiteles’ Hermes with the young Dionysus may have influenced Michelangelo with their idealised form, grace and college dorm, naked purity. Similarly Botticelli may have been influenced by cattell, the Ludovisi Throne, the Greek relief that depicts the birth of Venus, the same scene that became his most famous work. In referencing Greek art it can be seen that Renaissance was embracing the maybank transfer, same freedom of form and cattell, naturalism that characterised ancient Greek art, moving away from the heavily stylised, static and dr king biography, ill-proportioned works of the Gothic era. The celebration of the cattell personality, human form rediscovered from classicism reflects the cultural shift toward man as the limit, centre of the cattell personality, universe. Whilst the human form is an maybank transfer, important signifier in cattell personality, both Northern and Italian art the dr king biography, representations differ. Personality? In Northern art and in particular the work Merode Altarpiece by the Master of Flemalle there is a vivid realism and angularity of form with special attention paid to detail and sepoy, use of vibrant colours. Personality? In the dr king, Merode Altarpiece a celebration of the everyday and cattell personality, of humanism can be seen in the figure of St Joseph with special care and attention paid to his expression, there is also the use of vibrant jewel like colours used for his turban and of a Scotsman, red sleeves. This celebration of humanism can be seen in the detailed works of personality, Jan Van Eyck who used oil paints to achieve a rich intense glow, which can be seen in Human Beings are Evil: Lord of the, the vibrant colour used for cattell personality, Man in college dorm, a Red Turban. Northern Renaissance focused on achieving detailed realistic works, which strived to make things appear as they would in the real world utilised the cattell, science of perspective.

The use of the human for Beings Golding's Flies Essay, in Northern art signified the cultural shift towards the importance of man and the beauty that exists naturally and everyday. Alternatively in personality, the Italian Renaissance artists focussed on anne fine books ideal form, which was based on classical proportions. The work of Michelangelo was fascinated with the ideal human form from personality, his early sculptures of the Virgin Mary mourning Christ and Human Beings of the Essay, of David to his painting of the Sistine ceiling and The Last Judgement. Michelangelo’s sculpture of David represents the Italian Renaissances belief of personality, beauty as both physical and spiritual and reflects the Vitruvius quote that “Man in his ideal proportion is the measure of all things.” David signifies the transfer limit, way in which attitudes were changing about the cattell personality, social structure and college dorm, how man is moving toward becoming the personality, centre of the universe rather than God. Apa Referencing A Web? The use of idealism can also be seen in the work of Sandro Botticelli. In Primavera a mythological work Venus and handmaidens appear as images of perfection and seem to be floating. His fluid decorative designs and elegant figures deal with aesthetics and morphology, which were important themes in Italian Renaissance. Cattell? Renaissance saw a amalgamation between science and dr king biography, religion as can be seen in the portrait The Madonna and Child with Chancellor Rolin by Northern artist Jan van Eyck, which features biblical figures in a situation that follows the cattell personality, science of anne fine books, perspective, the use of the two together also identifies the changing attitudes towards religion and the church and cattell personality, the union of the two with science. Chancellor Rolin prays before Madonna and limit, Child, a situation one would normally never experience, it would normally have been a sign of blasphemy, but is accepted within of the personality, changing attitudes of humanistic Northern Europe.

Raphael’s School of Athens shows an assembly of ancient philosophers. Define Sepoy? It celebrates scholarly disciplines, which according to personality Renaissance thought led to dr king biography a revelation in personality, spiritual truths (methods of bringing man closer to god). The work shows how science and religion were working together. In the work there is the college, use of the perspective for personality, depth and his incredible detail and complex compositions helped to create a more expressive and dramatised style of painting that embraced philosophy and anne fine books, science along with religion. The painting encapsulates the humanistic spirit and the pervasive sign of change within visual conventions within Italian Renaissance and personality, its stylistic successor the Baroque. In these works, School of Athens, David and Primavera, it can be seen that art reflected the new attitudes in biography, society towards religion and art and the ability of the two to cattell co-exist. Anne Fine Books? The Renaissance saw the personality, progression of Human, iconography in personality, art. When Jan Van Eyck created Arnolfini Marriage Group he incorporated many signs and symbols to mark the celebration of this union. He places a dog at the bottom of the a web, portrait to as it represents fidelity and faithfulness, as well he paints the wife with an cattell, enlarged waist as if to emphasise her fecundity as well she wears green as a symbol of Lord, new births. Finally a single candle is lit above the groom to cattell personality represent Gods’ presence.

In The Birth of Venus Botticelli has used only spring flowers in the dress and robe of the maybank transfer limit, Nymph appropriate to the theme of birth as well he has detailed the trees and blooms in cattell personality, gold accentuating its role as a precious object and sepoy mutiny, echoing the divine status of Venus. Renaissance saw the introduction of personality, iconography to The Courage convey further ideas and thoughts through signs and symbols, many of which are still not fully understood to this day but do testify to their social signficance. Renaissance saw artists becoming intellectual practitioners and being celebrated as geniuses. Artists also began to personality see their own importance and The Courage of a, started to cattell paint self-portraits. Durer was the h2so4, first artist to create a series of self-portraits, which documented his changes throughout life.

In one particular self–portrait painted in 1498 Durer painted himself almost god like with long flowing hair and cattell, expensive elegant clothes. The Courage Essay? This typified the attitude of cattell personality, artists as important and how art had come to be a sign of status, wealth and prosperity. Dramatically this approach to religious iconography would never be considered in the practice of Italian painters of this time, as it would be consider sacrilegious. In comparing the biography, works of Northern Renaissance to the works of the cattell, Italians of this period it can be seen that representation is culturally derivative, whilst physical appearances do not differ their perception certainly do. The Renaissance reflected the changing attitudes in society and Human Golding's of the Flies Essay, the shift forward in scientific and philosophical thought. Whilst Northern European and Italian artists may reflect the human form differently it can be seen that this representation of the cattell, ‘body’ characteristically became a key signifier for the culture of the time. Sepoy Mutiny? Both cultures testify to the scientific and religious development and mirror such events through the representation of the human form. Cattell? This is a solid piece of writing, which is supported by college dorm, a depth of knowledge in terms of the representation of the human body in a historical context. The candidate had provided a number of topics dealing with the question. The essay is personality well planned and address and adapts learnt knowledge to the demands of the question.

The main reason for their continued grip on the field’s attention (other than the boldness of the anne fine books idea and elegance of execution) may be simply that they leave us with a portrait of human character that is radically different from the one that we personally wish to endorse or that the wider culture teaches us to accept. In this seminar, we will take an in-depth look at these famous studies (along with the more recent replications) and explore their various psychological, political and cattell, philosophical ramifications. As with other seminars, this course has a number of Human are Evil: Golding's of the Flies, intellectual goals that go far beyond simply rarifying one’s understanding of a particular content area (important and generative as it may be). One such a goal is to enable you to think critically (though not disparagingly) about other people’s research and theoretical claims that ensue from it, all with the hope that you can then apply the self-same critical acumen to cattell your own future work. Second, I hope that our interactions throughout the course will offer a hospitable environment for developing (and exchanging) creative ideas of your own.

Your work on your individual reaction papers and on the term paper in anne fine books particular will be a key element in achieving this goal. Lastly, I hope that, along with other upper-level courses, this seminar will offer a sensible (yet informal) introduction to psychological research methodology and research ethics. This objective will be met primarily through class discussions and some additional readings. Summer Session 1: TR: 9 AM - 12:50 PM. The course studies the fundamental principles of cattell, decision-making and applies them to a variety of social activities. The decision-making is analyzed in terms of its uncertainty, rationality, effectiveness, and apa referencing a web site, normative connotations. After the notion of rationality is introduced, rational decisions are scrutinized as individual choices that may or may not affect other individuals and personality, their choices. In some situations the limit choices are predictable with high probability, in others with high uncertainty. The nature of situations influences the mode of rationality applied.

In the game theoretical situations, for instance, the efefctive choice must reach an equilibrium, i.e. a mutual solution acception for all rational participants. Personality! The course reevises the mutiny theory and provides applicaitons to cases of cooperation, defection, resoluteness, etc. as well as complex cases. Possible references for the course are Amaratya Sen, Itzhak Gilboa and Davide Kreps. This course may be used to count towards the PPE 201 Strategic Reasoning Common Core Requirement. Summer Session 2: TR: 1:15 PM - 5:05 PM. Our societyindeed, your everyday lifeis fundamentally shaped by risk. At least that’s what many prominent social theorists think and, after this course, I bet you’ll think that, too. Humanity has been attempting to predict and control the future since ancient times, but thinking about decisions in terms of personality, risk is a relatively new way of seeing the world. For much of human history, people looked to gods for signs about the future and saw disasters as divine retribution for the transgressions of the past. But as the Human Beings are Evil: Golding's Lord scientific thought of the cattell personality Enlightenment eroded deterministic thinking, the natural and social world came to be seen as uncertain and random, but with patterns that could mathematically be developed into probabilities. Such statistical thinking about costs and biography, benefits came to shape everything from cattell, gambling to public health and birthed whole fields and dr king, industries from cattell personality, actuarial science to personalized genomics. In each class we will study a single keyword related to transfer our core conceptsrisk, disaster, and predictionand in each investigation we will analyze the keyword’s meaning, its history, and cattell, how it functions in apa referencing the social world. Cattell! PPE 475-402 (HIST 455) Risk and Society (Wiggins) Since at least Herodotus, historians have been writing about cattell personality, humanity’s attempts to transfer predict dangers and control futures. But while a concern for the future and strategies to personality mitigate accidents have existed for much of recorded time, the concept of risk is anne fine books a relatively young construction, emerging only in early modernity.

In this course, we investigate the concept of the risk in order to understand how it became a central organizing force in the modern periodperhaps even the defining characteristic of modernityand, importantly, how it came to be seen as manageable. In the course’s first unit, we read the foundational materials of the theory of the “risk society”Ulrich Beck and Anthony Giddens’ early work. Then, in unit 2, move to cattell personality selections from historians of knowledge who trace the Human Beings are Evil: Lord of the Essay epistemic shifts that developed modern concepts of risk and eventually opened the possibility for its management through the use of statistical probabilities. While the most critical developments in the conception of risk took place in Europe across the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, unit 3 moves across the Atlantic to investigate the ways in which risk and, especially the desire to mitigate it, shaped the United States. In this unit (our largest of the course), we will see how risk assessment and management grew into cattell personality, the largest business in the world. Here, we will look at statistics, actuarial science, insurance, speculation, and transfer limit, financial capital.

Along the way, we will see many instances in which categories of identityrace, class, gender, sexuality, abilityare tied deeply into personality, the business of discriminating risk. Roles Responsiblities of Teaching – PGCE. As a teacher there are wide range of personality roles and responsibilities that we must fulfil in maybank limit order to personality ensure we are successful. There are many different audiences which we have to define sepoy adhere to, not just students, but parents/carers, social workers, case managers, schools, examination boards and our managers. Wilson (2009, Pg 6) describes a vast list of roles and responsibilities of cattell personality a teacher. In this list she highlights a variety of areas from duties surrounding planning schemes of work and lessons, assessing, verifying and reviewing students learning, marking work and The Courage Scotsman Essay entering students for personality qualifications and examinations, having a duty of care, creating a safe environment for all and many more. I feel that within these roles and Human Beings are Evil: Golding's Lord responsibilities I have some strengths and some areas for improvement.

Throughout this report I will discuss many of the roles and responsibilities which I feel are important in my role as a teacher, and cattell evaluate them in terms of my strengths and my personal areas for improvement. Need essay sample on apa referencing a web site, Roles Responsiblities of personality Teaching – PGCE ? We will write a custom essay sample specifically for define sepoy you for only $12.90/page. I will also discuss in this report some of the most challenging aspects of my role, and evaluate how I could develop further in these areas. Wilson (2009, Pg 4) states that as teachers “We are charged with ensuring our learners gain their qualifications in a manner which is personality favourable to their own learning needs and The Courage those of the awarding bodies”. Through this she highlights our main aim as teachers to ensure that all students achieve their qualifications. However, she also describes how it is imperative that all students learning needs are met. These learning needs could include a variety of different aspects varying from Learning Difficulties and Disabilities, Emotional Behavioural Difficulties, Social Issues, family circumstances and many more. Through having a good understanding of our students learning needs we can ultimately provide an inclusive and personality conducive learning environment (Wilson, 2009 Tadeo, 2010). 7 One of the ways in which it is possible to ensure all this information, and more, is gained and accessible to all staff is Human Beings Golding's Lord of the Essay through the Initial. Assessment process. I believe Initial Assessments to be one of the most important and crucial times in education.

I feel that the importance of understanding the individual and engaging them from the cattell, outset is vital. Anne Fine Books. Petty (2009, Pg 532) highlights this in cattell explaining that Initial Assessments are important as “teachers need to know a good deal about are Evil: Golding's their students if they are to place them on the right programme, and also to teach them well”. Initial Assessments are often used to determine the level which the learner should be placed upon, and can provide vital information about individual’s learning needs and ensure the learner is supported throughout their learning experience (Excellence Gateway, n. d. Tadeo, 2010). Wilson (2009, Pg 134) describes the huge range of information we need to gain from Initial Assessments: “…personality, character and behaviour… attainment and potential and cattell skills gaps, aspirations, support needed and level of limit ability”. Cattell Personality. This highlights the huge variety of apa referencing site methods needed to employ to ensure we know all of this information about cattell our learners. During the early stages of Initial Assessments my responsibility as a teacher mainly lies in ensuring I am familiar with the information provided about each student prior to them attending college, for example from the interview process and through information gained from outside agencies, such as Statements of Educational Needs. Working with students with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties makes this an even more imperative task, and means that we really must ensure that as much information about each student is gained as possible to ensure they can provided with a positive, supportive and successful college experience. Within Initial Assessments it is vital to gain information pertaining to the individuals background, for example previous educational establishments, any qualifications already gained and any social, emotional, learning or behavioural difficulties exhibited.

Once the student has come into college I am able to take a much more active role in the Initial Assessment process. My responsibilities mostly pertain to sepoy 8 introducing myself to the students, getting to know them, and assessing their current competencies. I vital part in my role within Initial Assessments is ensuring all students complete tests which measure the level of their iteracy and numeracy using Target Skills Gold. This enables me to ensure students are entered at the correct level of qualification (Petty, 2009). Tadeo (2010) highlights the reliability of such objective tests in the initial assessment process. This responsibility also continues on throughout the year, as I must ensure that all students who arrive throughout the year complete these assessments.

I believe the most vital area of Initial Assessments is getting to personality know your students, and I also believe this is one of Human my main strengths as a teacher. It is imperative that we understand why they are with us, what they are interested in, any social and emotional issues they may be willing to share, their family situation and much more information. Cattell. For this reason, within the first few days I ask all students to create an ‘About me’ poster in Scotsman Essay which I ask them to put photos and images of things they enjoy and are interested in, photos of cattell personality their friends, family and Human Beings are Evil: Golding's of the Flies pets, and any other information about themselves. This also provides the personality, opportunity to assess students’ capabilities with Computers, and often literacy. I feel that through this it is highlighted to each student that I am interested in them as an individual, and enable me to adapt teaching methods to suit not only their learning needs but also their interests. This notion and method of dr king biography getting to know your students is supported by Craven (n. d. , para. 4) in which she states “good things for students to cattell share are information about their families, hobbies and interests, and any other fun facts… [in] building your classroom community”. Working within the Fourteen Plus provision, which is apa referencing a provision for students who have been excluded from personality, mainstream education for a variety of reasons. These students can exhibit particularly challenging behaviour, and are often extremely difficult to sepoy engage. I feel that building a good rapport with any student, but especially students with Emotional Behavioural Difficulties, help in creating a supportive and cattell personality welcoming environment. I am always keen to 9 learn about the of the Flies Essay, students’ interests and hobbies, and am quickly learning the positive impact of personality tailoring lessons and tasks to their interests, and linking the work to make it applicable to their lives (Cowley, 2003 and Craven, n. Dr King. d. ). The behavioural problems can prompt the most challenging aspects of my role.

Often students are very challenging to engage. Petty (2009) highlights the importance making learning enjoyable and fun in order to motivate and engage students. He highlights the importance in relating tasks to cattell personality the individuals in dr king biography motivating students, stating “…students, like most people, find something more interesting if it relates directly to their own lives or own enthusiasms” (Petty, 2009, Pg 51-52). I feel that I am developing this skill of making tasks both applicable and exciting currently and am hopeful that with this skill behaviour and attitude will continue to improve. Another role I must play in the Initial Assessment process is to ensure all students are placed in personality the correct group, at the correct level of qualification. This is partly assessed from the students’ target skills gold results, determining their current level. However, there are many other factors to consider. These include the students commitment and attitude towards their study, any learning needs which may mean students are more suited to smaller groups with more support from Learning Assistants. This is mostly carried out as a group discussion between the Course leader, another lecturer and myself. I feel that perhaps this is an area in which I am lacking confidence.

Although I have been working within this provision for over three years I still lack confidence when discussing matters with my colleagues. I feel that if I was to improve my confidence I could make a more positive contribution to such decisions. One of my main strengths is in understanding individuals learning needs. I am always keen to ensure that all students are supported in all aspects of their learning. This may not only include supporting their learning difficulties and a web site barriers to learning, but also in providing pastoral support and advice. I am understanding of students social, emotional and personal issues and able to 10 support them where need be, and cattell personality knowledgeable of Scotsman policies and procedures in referring students to relevant areas, such as Counselling, Connexions, Anger management etc. Another key role and responsibility of a teacher is creating a positive teaching environment, managing the classroom and personality challenging and managing challenging behaviour. I feel that this is another of my strengths as I have been working with students with challenging behaviour for over three years in a variety of capacities. I feel that this has given me a wide range of sepoy mutiny behaviour management skills and techniques. I have also taken part in a course on personality, Working with Aggression and Violence Effectively which has given me a variety of de-escalating techniques and a web site greater confidence in dealing with aggressive students, which is common issue when working with such challenging students. Creating a safe environment for all to feel confident and secure in (Petty, 2009 and Wilson, 2009).

Petty (2009) highlights how “mutual respect [based on]…his or her teaching skills, personal qualities, knowledge and professionalism” is key in ensuring a good relationship between the teacher and student. Whilst meeting with my colleague he suggested that this is one of my main strengths. I am good at showing each student respect, getting to know them, their likes and dislikes, their passions and enthusiasms. Cowley (2003) highlights how happily engaging students in conversations makes the student feel as though the lecturer is interested in them and actually likes them, making the classroom a warm and welcoming environment. Cattell. Being a good role model to my students is one of the most important aspects of being a teacher. Cowley (2003, Pg 163) supports this view in stating “Children… need good role models to look up to and learn from. Their teacher or teachers can have a huge, positive influence on them, particularly if they respect and like them”. There are many aspects to being a good role model as a teacher such as always being organised, prepared and on Human Lord of the Essay, time to lessons. These are all attributes I hope and expect from my students, and by 11 showing them myself I am creating a positive role model for them.

Another way of being a good role model is to always be polite and courteous to my students. Personality. Cowley (2003) expresses the importance of site being polite, even when confronted with the difficult situations and rudest students, highlighting that the cattell, other students present are learning from you. I always aim to be a good role model to my students, being punctual, organised, prepared, polite and proactive in engaging all students in their learning. Essay. I feel that this helps students in respecting me. Cattell Personality. Another aspect of being a good role model to students is a web site ensuring my knowledge of the curriculum and subject is cattell personality good. Transfer. I have a clear understanding of the GCSE curriculum and cattell scheme of work, and am confident in all areas of teaching this. However, as the of a Scotsman, Functional Skills qualification is a new qualification to us I am still getting used to the structure of the personality, assessment. I need to ensure I am more familiar with this in order to develop and be successful as a teacher. Within this I must also ensure that all my lessons are planned well and I am fully prepared.

My preparation is good, and I am always organised for my learners. However, timing is an area which I need to develop. Due to nature of the students it can be unpredictable how much work they will achieve at any one time. I find this is apa referencing making it difficult for me to assess how much time each individual task will take. I know my students well and am understanding of their barriers to personality learning, but feel that if I was able to plan the biography, time more precisely during lessons I would be a more successful teacher for my learners. One of the biggest challenges I have in cattell personality my current role is verifying the students learning. Apa Referencing Site. I feel that working with students who are very challenging to engage anyway make this task even more challenging. It is cattell personality often the case that students want to get on with their work and Human are Evil: Lord of the Essay go, they do not want to cattell personality sit and Beings are Evil: Flies tell me what they have learnt, or listen to me explain to them what they have done well, or what they need to improve. I realise that this is probably my most important area for improvement and development.

I feel that I need to cattell personality employ more exciting and active methods of teaching in engaging students 12 further, ensuring they understand and giving them and myself the confidence to ensure all learning is verified. I feel that if I try to address all the areas of of a Essay development mentioned above I will be a more successful teacher, and personality ensure all students achieve and have a successful college experience.
